The EPA’s Bulletins Live! Two is a website that provides information for specific geographic areas (Pesticide Use Limitation Areas or PULAs) where listed species or their critical habitat are found. If EPA requires additional mitigations in these areas, those pesticide-specific requirements will be outlined for each PULA. The applicator will be required to check EPA’s Bulletins Live! Two within 6 months prior to the application to determine whether the application site is in a PULA. If it is, the pesticide label and/or bulletins on the EPA’s Bulletins Live! Two website would identify the amount or type of additional mitigation needed. It’s important to note, therefore, that if the label directs you to check Bulletins Live! Two, you will need to plan your pesticide application in advance.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use the Bulletins Live! Two website:
1. Go to the Bulletins Live! Two website. (If you’re using a mobile device, click on the “BLT mapping app”).
2. You may type in the address of the area where you plan to apply pesticides in the “Location Search” field, or pan and zoom on the map itself.
3. Choose the month in which you intend to apply the pesticide. This is crucial because the bulletins are specific to both location and time.
4. Refine your search by selecting the active ingredient or the EPA Registration Number of the product you plan to use. Leave this blank if you want to see all the products with use limitations in your area.
5. If a pink area (PULA) is visible on the map, click it, and a green “Printable Bulletin” button will appear in the top right corner of the screen (Figure 1 below). Click this green button to download a PDF of your bulletin (Figures 2-4).
6. It’s a good practice to print the bulletin or maintain an electronic copy for your records and to ensure you follow the guidelines during application. You should print or file the bulletin even if a pink PULA does not appear in your application area.
7. Adhere to the pesticide use limitations outlined in the bulletin to comply with federal regulations and to protect endangered species and their habitats in your application area.
